A Love Letter From God-Graphic

As Christmas and New Years become distant in our rear view, Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching.  The aisles upon aisles of chocolate, the rows of pretty cards and the endless supply of anything decorated in the colors of pink and red.  However, it is often difficult to find good books for children on Valentine’s Day.  When I was asked to review A Love Letter From God, I was really excited!

A Love Letter From God is a sweet new book from perennial best-selling author P. K. HallinanIn this new title, the author supposes what God might say in a personal letter written to a child.  The unconditional and unlimited nature of God’s love is revealed through simple and lyrical language.

I love you, My child, so hear what I say:
Nothing can pry Me or drive Me away.
Your future’s as brilliant as the sun on the sea…
And I’ll love you forever, through all eternity.

My Thoughts:

Never judge a book by its cover, but this cover was remarkable.  The bright colors were inviting and pulled me in immediately.  My 5-year-old and 7-year-old immediately asked to read it and both enjoyed the book.  The illustrations were fantastic!  Each  page was absolutely wonderful!  The cut-outs also made this book a lot of fun, leaving each page different and getting the kids involved!

I Love you, My Child,
So I’ll reach out My hand
and send you My blessings
so you’ll understand.

The story is a beautiful illustration of God’s love for our kids.  When they are little it is so important that they know deeply how loved they are not just by us, but by their Heavenly Father.  This helps kids to grow in Christ and want a relationship with Him.  One of the first scriptures most parents teach their young ones is John 3:16.  This book goes right along with that foundation.  In this story, the author imagines what God might say in a personal letter written to a child.  A Love Letter From God will remind children of God’s eternal love and how He demonstrates that love through everyday miracles and by the wonder of His presence.

The last page of the book sums up this beautiful book.  It says, “…and I’ll love you forever, through all eternity.”  Beautiful words for a beautiful and unconditional love.

Isn’t that just beautiful?  God’s love is eternal!b I will admit that I am a big sap for good children’s books.  This book really hits up there with greats like Love you Forever.  You get that same warm feeling that starts in your heart!  I LOVE those kinds of books and love sharing them with my children.

All of my kids are readers.  So after my story time with the boys, Nemo wanted to read the book himself.  Here is a video. 🙂

During the month of January, every book from www.idealsbooks.com with the word “LOVE” in the title will be 20% off!  So be sure to search “LOVE2015” for a complete list of books!!!
