It never fails that when you’re trying to lose weight, you crave those bold, flavorful meals packed with carbs and calories. You know the kind I’m talking about. That’s where this delicious keto bang bang sauce comes in to play.

The sauce is healthy and very low calorie so it won’t throw you off your weight loss journey. What it loses in calories, it makes up in bold, fantastic flavor! As an added bonus, it’s incredibly easy to make.

 

If you have anyone with food allergies or a sensitive stomach to certain foods in your family, they shouldn’t have any problems with this recipe. I have a son with severe GI problems and a food allergy, yet he loves this bang bang sauce!

 

Most people immediately think of shrimp when they think of bang bang sauce, but don’t limit yourself! This is great with all kinds of fish like salmon cakes, veggies, and various meats. My husband likes to venture with sauces and meats. He says it’s great on burgers, too. 

The versatility of this sauce is inspiring. Don’t be afraid to get creative with it.

 

This recipe is one of the easiest ones to make and so full of flavor. If you love to order the bang bang shrimp appetizer then you should definitely try this at home. This sauce was born through my own food allergies. I’m allergic to shrimp and shellfish, so thus this was born to use with other options.

If you want to know exactly what I use this keto bang bang sauce on, I’ll tell you. One of my favorite recipes to make is this Keto Bang Bang Salmon. It’s also incredible when used over baked chicken.

If you want to use it as a dip, then buy some sliced veggies and have a healthy snack. Honestly, it’s the perfect sauce to keep those cravings at bay while fueling your body with healthy food.

How do you store Keto Bang Bang Sauce?

Be sure to keep this sauce in the refrigerator once you’re done using it. Any airtight container will work, such as pint canning jars, resealable Tupperware, or even a Zip-top style baggie if you’re in a pinch.

Unless you purposefully make extra sauce, you probably won’t need to store any extra, especially if your family is anything like mine. This recipe only makes about 1/2 of a cup and after pouring the sauce on your meal and then dipping the rest, I’m sure it’ll be nearly gone. 

 

How long will it keep in the fridge?

The sauce will only keep for about 7 days in the refrigerator. But again, this recipe only makes about 1/2 of a cup. Depending on how much you love bang bang sauce (personally I’m a huge fan) that may not be an issue.

If you only plan on using a little bit of the sauce, then it’s a good idea to look up a few different recipes you can use it in so you don’t waste too much of it. Or just get creative and see what works when paired with this sauce. 

What if I don’t like Pyure Sweetener?

Don’t worry about the brand name! Just use whatever low carb sweetener you and your family prefer. Regular Stevia or erythritol are two different options you can use in this recipe or any other for that matter.

My family and I prefer the Pyure sweetener because we’re not left with an aftertaste from the sweetener. Sometimes, the aftertaste from sweeteners can ruin the overall taste of a recipe. 

My preference is natural sweeteners, like honey, where I can. Unfortunately, because of the sauce consistency, honey doesn’t work in this recipe.

 

How do you make Keto Bang Bang Sauce from scratch?

The best part about this recipe is that it doesn’t require any kitchen appliances at all! The only items you will need are a bowl, whisk or spoon, and your measuring cups.

This is probably one of the easiest and quickest recipes you’ll ever make. I’m sure you’ll fall in love with it just like we have!

Directions for EASY Keto Bang Bang Sauce

First, you place all the ingredients in a medium-sized bowl. Mix well. 

After the mixture is completely stirred, let sit for about 30 minutes so that the flavors can develop properly.

Store leftovers in a container that is airtight in the refrigerator for up to 7 days.

What is Sambal Oelek?

Sambal Oelek is an Indonesian version of what we call red chili paste. It can be a sauce or paste and will act as a hot sauce for anything you add it to.

You can find it in the Asian food section at your local grocery store.

Can you make this less spicy?

Of course! If you don’t like your bang bang sauce too spicy then just reduce the amount of Sambal Oelek in your recipe. If you aren’t a fan of spicy foods in general then this may not be the recipe for you.

Bang Bang sauce is supposed to have a little kick to it, but you can put as little Sambal Oelek in it as you like. On the other hand, if you like it spicy then go ahead and add in a little more!

 

Can I freeze this Keto Bang Bang sauce?

Yes! Just know that it won’t taste exactly the same as when you make it fresh. I love making things ahead of time so I have less to do on weeknights.

For best results, pull the sauce out of the freezer and place it in the refrigerator the night before you’d like to use it.

Keto Bang Bang Sauce

Delicious keto bang bang sauce is perfect for salmon patties, burgers, and more! Easy to make and low carb!

Ingredients

  • ½ cup of Soy-free Mayonnaise
  • 1 large clove of Garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of Sambal Oelek (or your favorite red chili paste)
  • 1 tablespoon of Rice Vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon of Pyure(or your favorite low carb sweetener)

Instructions

    Add all the ingredients to a medium-sized bowl and mix well.

Let it sit for at least 30 minutes for the flavors to develop.

Keep the leftovers in an air thigh container, in the fridge for up to 7 days
