Instant Pot Teriyaki Chicken

I have gone from a skeptic to a believer of the Instant Pot. This miracle machine is wonderful and efficient and is nothing short of amazing! It makes cooking simple.

The Instant Pot craze has grown considerably over the last several months and now it seems everyone has one or knows someone who has one.

When I received my Instant Pot, the first question I asked myself was “What do I fix in this thing?” There are so many buttons and, to be quite honest, I was somewhat overwhelmed at first.

Whether you’re considering purchasing one, recently purchased one or haven’t quite figured out all the capabilities of the Instant Pot, don’t fret. I’m here to help and share how to work this magic pot of wonder!

Speaking of scrumptious recipes, I present to you Instant Pot Teriyaki Chicken.

Directions:

Step 1: Gather all your ingredients for your Instant Pot Teriyaki Chicken (see recipe box):

Tyson Individual Quick Frozen Halves Chicken Breast, 8.2 Ounce -- 36 per case.
Kikkoman Lite Soy Sauce, 64-Ounce Bottle (Pack of 1)
Domino Dark Brown Sugar 2 Lb
Heinz Easy Squeeze Ketchup - 20 oz

Step 2: Combine soy sauce, brown sugar, ketchup, and ginger in Instant Pot. Stir well.

Step 3: Add chicken and mix in sauce. Close Instant Pot lid and seal steam valve.

Step 4: Use the poultry setting for 7 minutes. Let it depressurize naturally.

Step 5: Remove chicken from sauce and set aside. Stir in cornstarch to thicken sauce.

Step 6: Slice chicken and serve on top of rice, salad, or in a wrap. Drizzle teriyaki sauce on top for extra flavor.

That is all there is to it. You can be as creative as you would like to be.

Meals are so easy to prepare in the Instant Pot. I absolutely love using this magical gadget. Home cooked meals are easily prepared and not nearly as time-consuming as standing over the stove preparing the same meal. Also, as an added bonus, you have only one pot to wash!

Instant Pot Teriyaki Chicken

Ingredients

  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tsp. ground ginger
  • 2-4 tsp. cornstarch
  • 1-2 lbs. thawed chicken breast

Instructions

  1. Combine soy sauce, brown sugar, ketchup, and ginger in Instant Pot. Stir well. Add chicken and mix in sauce. Close Instant Pot lid and seal steam valve.
  2. Set Instant Pot to poultry setting and cook for 5-7 minutes. Let depressurize naturally.
  3. Remove chicken from sauce and set aside. Stir in cornstarch to sauce to thicken.
  4. Slice chicken and serve on top of rice, salad, or in a wrap. Drizzle teriyaki sauce on top for extra flavor.

  1. I made this for dinner tonight. It was delicious! I added some Sriracha because I was in the mood for some heat. Served it alongside rice and some broccoli I’d tossed into the sauce after I pulled the chicken out. Thank you for an excellent recipe that worked like a charm.

  7. Hi Judy, I am assuming you do not read any news sites either because they ALL have ads on them. It is 2018. This is the digital world. In order to avoid ads, you will need to buy a cookbook. Sorry- I cannot afford to produce recipes, buy groceries which are outrageous, pay for my hosting which is very expensive, photography etc for free. I don’t think most people work for free. So that means I need ads. The recipe is at the end of the post, that you scrolled through to leave this comment. Blessings!

  9. Hi there, I am looking at the situation with the recipe card. It is working on my end. I am going to have the creator of the recipe card to check it out. Anyway, to do frozen it would be the same as thawed. It would just take longer to come to pressure.

  12. Hi Nancy, I had a technical glitch with my recipe card. I just recently moved to a new one that is more user friendly. When they moved me over, they kept some of my recipe cards in review only. So sorry about that! It should be fixed now.
