You’ll love how simple, quick and tasty these Instant Pot Pork Bites are. Where else can you combine the flavors of honey, mustard and my special homemade “soy sauce” to create an amazing meal the family will love?

Pork is a great source of protein and essential vitamins, minerals and amino acids. It contains all the essential amino acids necessary for the growth and maintenance of our bodies. By dry weight, the protein content of lean pork can be as high as 89%, making it one of the richest dietary sources of protein

I love cooking with pork I love how moist and tender it tastes after cooking in the Instant Pot. It’s such a relief to know that I can cook pork and not worry about it drying out.

What I love about this recipe is that the pork is cut up into bite-sized pieces. Not only is it easier to chew, but it really allows each and every pork bite to get fully marinated in all the awesome spices.

Plus, did I mention that this Instant Pot Pork Bites recipe is also a great freezer meal recipe?

What is the purpose of freezer meals?

Funny you should think of this question because back in the days before children, I often thought about this as well. Now that we have a busy family schedule, freezer meals are everything. I find that I’m so much less stressed knowing that I have a freezer full of meals that are ready and able to be cooked any time I need it. Freezer meals are so easy to reheat, even my husband can do it.

If I’m running errands and not home for dinner, I know the boys can easily go to the freezer, read the freezer label, and cook in the Instant Pot with ease. They’ll still enjoy a nice homemade dinner even when I’m not home!

Another benefit to meal planning is if you’re on a certain diet, for instance. It can make it easier to plan your meals out in advance so you know exactly what you’re going to be eating. This for sure helped me when we transitioned to a soy free life.

Do freezer meals taste differently than when cooked fresh?

They shouldn’t, if they are done correctly. The only difference with the freezer meal is that you are freezing it for a short period of time. It’s still made with all the same ingredients, so the flavor and taste should remain the same.

Now that you know you can eat this Instant Pot Pork Bites recipe today or within the next month, after it’s been converted to a freezer meal, it’s time to see this delicious recipe that you’re certain to love!

INSTRUCTIONS FOR FREEZER PREP

1) Place all the pork in a large round freezer safe container that fits inside the Instant Pot. This will ensure you can cook the pork bites from frozen with minimal defrosting.

2) Pour the remaining ingredients, except for the onions, inside the container with the cubed pork. Mix it up well so that everything is covered then place the onions on top.

3) Place the lid on the container and then tape the cooking instructions to the lid. Place in the freezer for up to 1 month.

Cooking Label: Pork Bites 8 minutes

Natural Pressure Release Cooking Directions:

1) Defrost the pork bites just enough to be able to remove them from the container. A few minutes under cool water should be enough.

2) Place the pork bites in the Instant Pot, no trivet or extra cooking liquid is needed. It will produce enough liquid on its own. Close the lid and turn the pressure valve to sealing.

3) Cook the pork bites on high pressure using the “manual” or “pressure cook” function for 8 mins. Let the pressure release naturally.

4) At this point you can either serve the pork bites as is (they should have an internal temperature of 170 degrees F), or you can place them in a baking pan with all the juice and broil them for about 3-5 minutes to make the outside a little crispy.

5) Serve and enjoy another delicious freezer meal!

See how simple this recipe is?! You can cook it for dinner tonight or freeze it for later, or both if you want! Who says that you have to choose just one?! And don’t forget about the other fun homemade bread recipes or Instant Pot desserts that you can make and eat with it as well.
