Football season calls for football food, right?!

Well, in this house the Ohio State Buckeyes are my husband’s obsession. When I say obsessed, I mean if they don’t win the game, my husband will be in mourning for the entire week. I don’t know if anyone else has a husband like that or not, but he sure does love his team. A LOT!

He also loves for me to plan out a football party for him. Complete with all the football fixings. It shows him how much I care about him, to plan a party for something he loves. Not to mention, the food is just good eating!

I may not understand his love for sweaty men running up and down a field trying to put a skinned pig through a hoop while scoring a touchdown, but as the chef in this house, I do enjoy making my man smile! I also enjoy whipping up some fantastic food! (Speaking of fantastic foods, check out even more amazing recipes here!)

These BBQ Nachos do the trick. Football, BBQ, and Mexican food all in one? My husband is a happy, happy man! (and I’ll admit, I’m fond of this recipe, too!)

If you crave nachos, which I am sure you do, this recipe will be a hit like that football player to hits the guy throwing the football (I think he’s called the pitcher)!

Although nachos can be prepared an infinite amount of ways, these BBQ nachos are one of my favorites. Topped with BBQ sauce, it definitely puts a new spin on an old favorite!

I always tend to get questions about some of my recipes, so here are some answers to ones that I think you’ll find helpful!

Who invented BBQ nachos?

Surprisingly, BBQ nachos were invented until the 1950s. (and as we all know, Elvis was a huge fan on ’em!) Ever since they were invented, they’ve been a hit! And while this recipe may be a bit different than the original recipe, the delicious taste is still the same!

What other meat can you add to this BBQ nacho recipe?

Honestly, whatever meat you want! Our household loves meat on our nachos, so the more the merrier! To cut down on some of the fat and grease, you can always add in a ground turkey. And to give it a little kick you can spice it up easily with chorizo.

How do you recommend storing the leftover BBQ nachos?

Leftovers? What’s that? But in all seriousness, if you happen to have leftovers, you can store them in an airtight container in your fridge. Just keep in mind that there’s a good chance that your chips will become soggy and won’t be crisp. You can always scrape off the toppings and put them on fresh chips the next day if you do have any leftovers! Where there’s a will, there’s a way!
