5 Morning Routines To Start Your Day Off With Jesus

Starting your morning off with Jesus is the perfect way to begin your day. My day seems to go to the wayside if I don’t place time in the Word and with my Savior first. Below I will share a variety of morning routines to start your day off with Jesus.

Pour your favorite cup of coffee or tea and find a comfy place to sit. Spending time in His Word to begin your day helps renew your mind, find strength and hope, and encouragement for the day.

Finding A Routine To Start Your Day Off With Jesus

Devotionals

Pick up your favorite devotional and read what the day has in store. At the end of the devotional you’ll normally find a Bible verse or two. Reference the verses in your Bible and read the scriptures before and after to go deeper into the meaning.

If you generally have a busier morning, reading a devotional can be quick but effective on reminding you of the love and hope God gives continually.

Worship

Play your favorite CD, or stream your favorite artist or tune into your favorite Christian radio station and just worship the Lord. Listen to the words and they will speak to you and get you prepared for the day. This is great if you have a morning commute. Include the whole family when playing worship music to enjoy as you begin your day.

Journaling

I love to journal. It is a very therapeutic way to get my thoughts down and also connect with the Lord. Finding a Bible verse that I can go deeper with and then apply it to my current life allows me to apply the word of God to my life and I can see how God’s word can give me hope, encouragement and focus to keep pushing through. I even have a group dedicated to this over at Journal Through the Bible on Facebook!

Below are some of my favorite Bible Journaling Resources! Yes- I really do have ever Bible pictured! 😉

Bible Reading Plan

You can find a variety of Bible reading plans online and newer Bibles have a recommended reading usually found in the back. A Bible Reading Plan can be very quick to do but you will be amazed how deep your faith grows each day.

You commit to reading whatever scriptures are picked for that day, then as you go throughout your day you can remember what you read and think about it. It is a perfect way to start out with Jesus and carry it through the whole day.

Some plans take only 10 minutes to read. Here at Awe Filled Homemaker, each day we write the word as we Journal Through the Bible for our monthly study!

Prayer Walk

If you love to wake up and get some exercise in you can still incorporate Jesus. As you are working out or headed out the door for a walk, Pray while you walk.

If you are outdoors you can feel really connected and pray for the hurting, pray for peace or strength for you, thank God for all the blessings or whatever comes to your heart.

If you walk around the neighborhood, pray for each neighbor as you pass by their home. You may also be interested in doing a prayer walk through your home!
